Proust & Atonement

  • St. Joan of Arc 4537 3rd Avenue South Minneapolis, MN, 55419 United States (map)

One of the themes of Marcel Proust's novel, In Search of Lost Time, is memory. This learning session will have some short quotes from the novel that will give participants the opportunity to discuss the importance of memory as we engage on Yom Kippur as it relates to atonement, Yizkor (Memorial Service), and recitation of prayers written centuries ago. This group will gather in person at St. Joan of Arc and on Zoom.

Facilitated by Harry Adler:

Harry Adler, educator, board member, and Mikom Minyan co-leader, read Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time as a way to remember his dad who passed away in January of 2021. He leads international Zoom discussions on themes from the epic novel.
