At the burning bush, Moses heard, “Take off your shoes, because the place where you stand is holy ground.” Everywhere we pray is holy ground. All land is sacred land.
Shir Tikvah is located in Mni Sota Makhoche, the homeland of the Dakhota people, who provided sanctuary to Anishinabe people after they were pushed west by Europeans. This land acknowledgement is one step in our journey towards tikkun olam, healing the world.
