OUR VISION

Shir Tikvah is a k’hilah k’doshah (holy community), joyfully revealing the intersections of talmud torah (lifelong Torah study), t’filah (prayer), tzedakah (justice), and hachnasat orchim (radical hospitality). We creatively wrestle with tradition and innovation as we invigorate Jewish spiritual life and transform the world.

The Vision Statement as it was voted by the congregation at the Annual Meeting on May 31, 2013. The vision statement is in the center box; around it is commentary about the language and intention of the statement.

From the Annual Meeting on May 31, 2013:

What is a Vision Statement?
A vision statement answers the question: “What do we aspire to as a community?” A good vision statement is inspiring, calls us to live into our best selves, and provides direction for strategic planning, programming, and decision-making.

How will Shir Tikvah use a Vision Statement?
Shir Tikvah will use a vision statement to propel the congregation into the future with shared values, a clear direction, common goals, and a target to guide planning.
