Finding Ourselves in Modern Hebrew Poetry

Finding Ourselves in Modern Hebrew Poetry

3rd Wednesday of the Month with Rafi Ellenson

7:00pm-8:00pm (Zoom)

Come explore the vast world of Modern Hebrew poetry with an eye towards examining how we as non-native speakers might use these poems as tools of spiritual growth. Together, we will ask how Modern Hebrew poetry uses the Jewish literary canon and innovates based on it. How do we, or do we not, find ourselves reflected within these texts? What is gained and lost in the process of translation? By reading a few poems (in translation!), we will hope to begin some of these conversations and start cultivating a connection to this literature. This class is a drop in group so come for however many sessions you would like!
