Leil Selichot Service

Join rabbis and prayer leaders from the Shir Tikvah, Beth Jacob and Zuta communities for a heartfelt night of learning, song, and connection, in preparation for the Days of Awe. Drawing from both Ashkenazi and Sefardi traditions, this nighttime Selichot marks the beginning of our journey into this sacred season together. 8:45 - Teaching with Rabbi Maayan Lev: “Piyyutim of Opposite Extremes”

Rabbi Maayan Lev (he/him) is the Director of Congregational Learning at Beth Jacob Congregation. He lived most of his life in Los Angeles. Rabbi Maayan was ordained at the Academy of Jewish Religion California, and holds a Masters in Jewish Education from Hebrew College. He also has a certificate in day school education from the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. Rabbi Maayan loves piyyutim, and wrote a high school piyyutim-based curriculum as his senior capstone project at Hebrew College. Leil Selichot is Rabbi Maayan’s favorite day of the Jewish calendar.
