Join us to sing and dance our way through the Book of Esther. Our story follows Esther and Mordecai as they fight the evil Haman and navigate the parties and perils of Persia. Purim is the holiday of turning things upside down - of mischief and risk, of joy that transforms oppression and play that undoes the binds of injustice. Shir Tikvah volunteers have been busy at work, developing original cabaret acts that tell the story of Esther. These acts will help us to live into Mordecai’s challenge to Esther - “Who knows - maybe you were created just for this moment?” Come for the joyous singing, stay for the community-wide heart-centered silliness. Join us in costume with your favorite way to make noise. For those with limber spines, bring pillows and sleeping bags to sit on the ground.
