About the Artist: Minneapolis-based artist Claude Riedel is internationally recognized for crafting Ner Tamids (eternal lights) that hang above the ark in synagogues across the world. For more than 25 years, Riedel has created singular works incorporating stained glass, blown glass, metalwork, cast bronze, and found objects. Rich with Judaic symbolism such as the Tree of Life, the Burning Bush, and the Star of David, each Ner Tamid is uniquely designed for its architectural setting. Riedel’s work, found in over 175 congregations globally, reflects his vision: “A radiant purity of light which inspires and calms the spirit of the worshipper.”
