Erev Rosh HaShanah Youth and Families T’filah

Monday, September 22, 2025 | 5:00pm

All welcome; designed for 2nd through 5th grade families.

Led by Shana, Forrest, and Rabbi Joey.

5786 is coming! Ring it in with community at Shir Tikvah! This Rosh HaShanah, our Families T’filot center on the theme, “Lilmod u’Lilamed (ללמוד וללמד) - To Learn and To Teach.” During the Erev Rosh HaShanah Families service, we will explore what we want to learn about and from ourselves and others in the new year.

As 5785 ends and we approach 5786, we invite our 2nd through 5th graders and families to consider these prompts:

-What is one thing you want to learn about yourself in the coming year?

-Share a question you have for others or for the world that you want to ask in the coming year. Why is this so important to you?

-What is a super niche subject you know a lot about? Why are you interested in that and what is your favorite part about it?

-What makes learning enjoyable, meaningful? Why?

Have these conversations as a family before Rosh HaShanah and bring your thoughts with you to the service. Really push yourselves to think about learning and teaching as things that happen both at school and outside of school. We look forward to hearing what you discuss!

Shir Tikvah Rosh HaShanah Youth and Families T’filot take place at St. Joan of Arc on Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23. All are welcome to all services; evening Families services are designed for 2nd through 5th graders and their families and morning Families services are designed for newborns through 1st graders and their families.
