Yom Kippur Morning Youth and Families T’filah

Thursday, October 2, 2025 | 9:30am

All welcome; designed for K’tanimot (families with newborns, babies, and tots) through 1st grade families.

Led by Shana, Forrest, and Rabbi Arielle.

5786 is here! Start it in community at Shir Tikvah! This Yom Kippur, our Families T’filot center on the theme, “Lilmod u’Lilamed (ללמוד וללמד) - To Learn and To Teach.” During the Yom Kippur Families service, we will sing, dance, and learn through this theme of learning and teaching as we reflect on the last year.

On Yom Kippur, we pick back up after the ten days since Rosh HaShanah: On Rosh HaShanah, we thought about and shared what we want to learn and teach in the new year. On Yom Kippur, we think about what we learned and taught in the last year. As we settle into 5786, we invite our youngest families to consider these prompts:

-What is something you can do now that you used to not be able to do? How did you learn how to do it? Who taught you?

-What did your parent(s)/guardian(s) learn from you this year? What did you learn from them?

Have these conversations as a family before Yom Kippur and bring your thoughts with you to the service. We look forward to hearing what you discuss!

Shir Tikvah Yom Kippur Families T’filot take place at St. Joan of Arc on Wednesday, October 1 and Thursday, October 2. All are welcome to all services; evening Families services are designed for 2nd through 5th graders and their families and morning Families services are designed for newborns through 1st graders and their families.
